i went to a tiny first-time gun show today, and picked up a sweet '63 vintage 32NP cobra. it isn't perfect, but it is close, and really doesn't appear to have been fired. it's a good day when you have no expectations, and come home with a 50 year old colt!

I also have a .32NP Cobra, which I will never fire. It dates to 1950 with a serial # 34X LW. I'm not an ammo guy, so can someone tell me if .32 NP is the same round as .32 S&W Long? Thanks for the info, Bob M.

YES! Very cool. I love the .32's and recently bought a D Special in .32 NP -Same as .32 Smith and Wesson long. When loaded to its potential that round is credible for defense. Consult Phil Sharpe's 1937 Handloading book (available as a free download) for data. I'm pushing an 85 gr XTP to over 1100 fps with no ill effects. Don't know about using those with your aluminum frame...probably OK on a limited basis.
