They are not factory but aftermarket Pachmayr sold before putting their own medallion on. Colt supplied the same Pachmayrs on some Mark III revolvers with the gold Colt medallion...I think it was mostly, if not exclusively supplied on many of the electroless nickel guns.

As already said, walnut target stocks would have originally come on your Trooper. It was, I believe, in 1976 when Colt changed from silver to gold medallions so it could have come with either.

You could buy Pachmayr grips with Colt medallions, but Colt did offer some handguns with Pachmayr grips but these had Colt medallions.

Correct, 1976 was the transition year from silver to gold medallions on the MKIII. I have 2 '76 models. My early '76 has silver and my later has gold. There were no Colt/Pachmayr medallion rubber grips in 1976.
