I bought a Frontier Six Shooter, 5 1/2", new in 2008. Were these Guns a limited production? Are they a second generation of the Frontier Six Shooter? What is increase in value, if any, over a typical SAA of the same age & excellant condition?

The THIRD generation.
None whatsoever unless...

Not limited production 3rd gen, just not as many made as standard bbl marking. The "etched bbl" black powder frame guns are harder to locate than the roll marked bbls.

Here's another one of mine, 1st gen with faded etched FSS;

I tried to purchase one when they were making the etched barrel this last time and was not able to find them anywhere. My dealer couldn't get one into the shop to save his life. Plenty of 45lc but none with the etching. Always wanted one in nickel 7.5".

It's a waste of time practically to try & use a local yokel dealer getting a Colt nowadays. You have to use the "Big Boys" or the Internet it seems.
