I am considering a 2nd series Colt Woodsman match target, 6" barrel, Shooter not collector condition ( I've seen it once but it is about ( I'm guessing )80-90% with thinning blue and greying on the top of the slide & other areas. I think the grips are replacements as they are wood instead of plastic. I'm considering a trade for it but need a value range. At this point I don't know the S/N but it is a second model with the push button mag release.
Are the 2nd models any more desireable than a third? ( I like their look better and I think the slide stop is machined instead of stamped?

Yes, the second series is worth more than the third.
Actually, the Match Target with the smaller barrel( I think 4") is worth more than the 6" barrel. Less made.
A second series Match Target as you describe would be in the range of $575- $675
