I bought this 1912 Colt a few weeks ago, and have been gathering ammo and components to reload for the round. The .32 Colt came in Long and Short versions. But confusingly it also came in heeled and inside lubed versions. And that means at it came in different bullet diameters. The Long came in two case lengths! Caution is advised before shooting one with any .32 ammo until you know your specifics.
I found these vintage .32 Long Colt rounds and thought I'd shoot them, then reload in them.
But my gun has a .312 bore. Chambers slightly larger, a .312 bullet will drop through. These Longs are inside lubed, and only .308 diameter, they would rattle their way down the bore like a musket. The .32 Colt Shorts I found are .312, and fire fairly accurately. Lots of research and work if you want to shoot one of these.
Readings slightly large due to old crusty lube on both.
