For any honest evaluation you will need to post some good clear pictures. As for being a collector; yes if in original condition, not refinished etc.
Being a nickel plated gun always, or usually, brings up speculation as to whether or not the nickel is original.
According to Douglas Sheldon's book "Colt's Super .38", nickel plating was available only by special order for the first few years of production. The first mention of it in a printed catalog was in January of 1934. The lowest know serial number for a nickel Pre-War Colt .38 Super is 2367. Fewer than 900 pistols (about 2% of total production) had the nickel finish. I'd definitely get a Archive letter on this one...
