OK heres the deal box no sticker or sleeve just the blue box manual and trinkets. Anyone know how many of these custom shop did, they seem to be kind of rare but what do I know? I did see one listed on GB for 6 grand but its been for sale for a year lol Anyhow thanks for any advice or information! Also since the box is gone would a colt letter recoup more valve than I paid for the letter?

That one listed for a year is my Daughters, STAY AWAY!!!! Lol

One sold last night on Gunbroker for $1775ish with no sleeve. Thought it went kinda low.

Letter will remove doubt but I don't think help price much if any.
That's too funny, I actually spent a day or 2 working up a budget plan for the family to buy that one.

Yea I was surprised to win that one, The guy wasn't too happy it sold, he's hoping I use the three day inspection period to return it.
I have the ONLY one I ever seen in a box. I've handled around 4-5 6 Inch Models, 1 8 Inch, 1 4 Inch in the box. I have handled 100 6" No Box.
Also take a look at these 2 port jobs

You would think the port would be in the same spot I would thiink anyhow

There were two types of porting on the Anacondas. The style that you have and the style with holes.I believe that Colt sent this style to Magnaport for processing. As far as location on the slots they seem to vary some from gun to gun.The 8" that I had was ported closer to the front of the vent.D*
I bought three 4" Anacondas together with that same porting, I think that was around 1997.....I do recall them saying they sent it out to be done.

one would think the placement would be the same on the same length barrel
This is off thread but why the Hell would anyone want to port these guns? Does it actually do anything to improve handling? My totally uneducated opinion would be that doing this would ultimately deminish a gun's value.....What say ye?

A letter is not needed, the Custom Anaconda's were stamped on the left lower grip frame; "CCS4" if memory serves correctly. But I'm to damn lazy to pull one of mine out to confirm. Check under the rubbers, the stamping should be there if it's legit

I think, it helps with follow up shots, If it didn't do anything, I would imagine colt wouldn't of put holes in their guns nor would anyone else for that matter O guess

if the custom shop was involved would they have done any trigger work, or would they not of even gone inside
It does make a difference when you shoot them for sure. But after a few shots the orange insert on front site is blackened.

Sounds like you had one, did Colt do any trigger work to yours
Are you under the impression that the gun with the Orange (Red Ramp) front sight is a Custom Shop Gun? Just curious because part of the "Custom Shop" package is Elliason sights. The overall package was:

1. Ported Barrel
2. Smoothed, recontoured, and mirror polished trigger
3. Elliason Sights front and rear
4. Action Job by Colts Custom Shop

I would think that the gun with the Red Ramp front sight was ported after it left the factory, was ordered to have the Accro instead of the Elliason or someone swapped after it left the factory.

Thanks Marc, the one I bought has elision Sites no red ramp. the other pic was one I found when I was trying to figure out if it was a custom shop gun, good to know about the trigger work.

That's it, turns out my memory ain't as bad as they say.
No trigger contour work on mine but I did not ordered a canned custom shop gun. I ordered three lightly engraved ported guns with action jobs. They were all actually cased with Randall knives and a drawer underneath for an El Paso saddlery holster and the sheath. Numbered 1 of 3, 2 of 3, etc.
