That is a beautiful Giles built kit gun! Do you have the original numbered mag to go with it?
At first glance I knew that was a Giles sight as I have a "hardball" commercial 1911 built by him from 1967. I also have a .45 kit gun (012XX B) that is still in the box and has never been built. The slide will only go on the frame about 3/4 of the way so it needs to be hand lapped and fit. I shoot bullseye with a Clark .45 but can't bring my self to have the kit gun finished out.
Thank you for sharing;
Mike

This is how Giles marked a "hardball" mag. Only one was supplied with the gun. N I stands for National Individual, a term from the DCM matches. "Softball" guns were supplied with 2 mags marked "1" and "2".
The Bullet Hole gun shop is still open in Sarasota. Recently moved from the location on the receipt though. The old shop was always fun to stop by. Was loaded with vintage stuff.
