Here's a few pics of the barrel... is this the correct barrel for this year? The pistol is in too good of condition to have needed a barrel replaced.

Looks to be an "HP" on the top with an "8c" under the lug

The barrel shown is a WWI military barrel made for Colt by the A. H. Fox Company. The common leg HP on top of the chamber represents H for Francis Hosmer, the inspector for the Ordnance Department assigned to Colt, and the P for Proof. The & represents the A. H. Fox Co. A scarce barrel, but the locking lugs appear rounded in the photo.
