I have two of the AR6721 AR-15A3 Tactical Carbine, my first one was made in 2002 during the ban but I bought it brand new old stock in 2005 after the ban and my other is made in 2010.

The 6721 model was released on 1994 before the ban, serial number BD 000134 and below are pre ban and are very collectible.

I had not seen this model in the Colt catalogs starting in 2018, so they might have discontinued it that year or earlier.

Here are some major changes of the model 6721:

Sometime during the ban the prefix serial number was changed to LBD because it was changed to a law enforcement model, before that in '94 the prefix was BD.

The original model had the skinny one layer heat shield ribbed carbine handguard, it was changed to the M4 fatter double heat shields around the mid to late '90s.

2002 the original CAR Fiberlite smaller synthetic buttstock was changed to the current M4 waffle type buttstock.

In 2005 the bolt carrier was originally "C" shaped rear end of the carrier (or also called half moon), it was changed to the M-16 auto type carrier.

Mid 2009 the oversized hammer and trigger pins was changed to the smaller mil-spec size (0.154") pins.

Around 2011 to 2013 the restricted law enforcement markings at the right side of magwell was removed.

2013 and on, Magpul MBUS2 synthetic folding rear sights was included instead of the previous detachable carry handle.

Congrats, show us a picture when you get it.

So I just answered my own question....I went on the hunt for the original box and located it with the correct model number and serial number. The dealer, with whom I am very familiar with had put a sticker on the box "Police Only." The dealer sold it to a coworker at my agency, who later sold it to me. Inside of the box in the Colt form letter stating that the rifle with serial number (number hand sritten in blank) was manufactured after September 12, 1994 and is for sale to law enforcement officers only. So, yes, LE gun without the LE markings.
The story that I've heard is that the factory did not add the LE restricted markings after serial number 134 right away.

The factory produced a lot of units without the LE restricted markings after serial number 134, during the ban they were only sold to the LE market.

After the ban ended I didn't like the other model LE6920 marked Colt's Law Enforcement Carbine so I went with the AR6721 model marked AR-15A3 Tactical Carbine instead.
