I am looking at buying a Combat Commander in 38 Super. I found one that is serial number FC27xxx and Colt says it was made in 1990. I have two concerns:1. Does this have a steel frame? I initially thought so, but Colt customer service said it would be alloy. I thought all "Combat" marked Commanders were steel framed.2. Would this 38 super barrel be of the revised design which headspaces on the case mouth as opposed to the rim? Let's assume that all parts are correct and original on this. Also, i researched this with multiple searches on the internet but couldn't come up with much. Thank you in advance!

The chart I looked at shows it was made in 91. The slide and frame are steel as with all Combat Commanders. The case headspaces on the case mouth. I think the .38 Super is an underappreciated cartridge that I really like. Good luck.
