here is a brief history as i know it, these are e-i frame stocks,to the best of my thinking it applies to other frame sizes as well.left to right. 1.stock for commercial left wheeler.
2. hard rubber as used on e-frames 08-26
3. delux checkered with early deep dish medallions , this stock standard on target mod? an option on other early e-frames used 1910?-1926?
4. standard checkered from 1926- 46? this has the stamped medallions
5. post war "coltwood" plastic with cast in medallion used 42-52??
6. late type, these with cast medallions, single stud mount. these are off a python{med`s are gold plated}

all from the earliest to the newest fit near perfectly on this 1916 vintage revolver,so while you can rough date the revolver instantly but it`s stocks,remember they can/will interchange.
