This UMC was manufactured in December of 1918.
It saw service and was parkerized(?) during its lifetime but kept the same two tone magazine. “If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it!”
The pistols were not rebuilt one at the time, but were disassembled en masse, out of spec, worn, or broken parts discarded, and good parts on to rebuild where they were sandblasted and reassembled from parts bins. It was common practice to use salvaged 1911 parts available on the 1911 rebuild pistols rather than on 1911A1 rebuilt pistols.
