A curiosity for the experts.

Bought this aftermarket mag as a backup for my newly acquired 1908 .380. I bought it sight unseen because the price was right. I was expecting a Triple K or something similar but this one looks more factory than those currently a available. So I sent a couple pics to Sam at coltautos.com to see if be could tell me about it. His reply was that he had not seen one like it so I thought I'd post pics here and see if anyone can identify the manufacturer. As you can see the foot plate and feed lips are shaped differently than a factory mag but other than that it looks a lot like my other mags.

Aftermarket in my opinion. Unknown maker to me.
Although what Triple K markets today leaves a lot to be desired, the Triple K brand has been around for quite some time and made aftermarket magazines as well as other gun stuff years ago. So there is a possibility that it might be a vintage Triple K magazine.

I wondered that too. Strangely this is the second one that I've owned, in the last few years, the first was marked .32 Cal over Colt. I also wondered if Numrich or Sarco might have sold aftermarket mags at some point.
By no means will I pretend to be an expert but here's my guess. It's hard to tell but if the base is the crimped style maybe it's a Colt late version straight top that someone foolishly altered the front part of the base a bit. Take a look:

COLT 1903 1908 POCKET HAMMERLESS (MAGAZINE 380) : Pistol Magazines & Pistol Clips at GunBroker.com

COLT 1908 380 NICKEL MAGAZINE ORIGINAL EXCELLENT : Pistol Magazines & Pistol Clips at GunBroker.com

It has to be crimped though.
