In the civilized world that we are supposed to live in there are laws that must protect us from evil.

There are laws against abuse towards people, animals, trees and pieces of art. (note: I left out the word fine as in fine art because that is a personal thing. I really like the more older artists like Rubens, Rembrandt Van Gogh but don't understand the kubists etc.).

BUT WHY????

Why isn't there a law to prevent men from raping such a fine piece like this?

The seller started at 13 cents. That's fair.....but it's been bid up to $405 AND the reserve has not been met.

Someone put it out of it's misery.

I understand completely.

Sometimes its ignorance, somtimes its accidental.

My friend some years ago showed me some old winchester and Henry rifles that his then senial and terminally ill dad refinished. He stripped the stocks of all that wonderful patina age and value, and put sloppy coat after coat after coat of new varnish on them. It was unfortunate, but what are you going to do.
