is there a low power, low recoil 357 mag load for target shooting? yes I kow you can shoot 38 specials, but my cyander chambers get clogged with residue and have to be scrubbed out. Tying to avoid this.
I've been shooting 2 loads that seem to work and give good accuracy in in several 357's. They are fairly mild 357 loads. I haven't got the Chrony out but I would guess 950-1050 fps depending on the gun. The first and most accurate load in all my guns is 5 gr of 231 and your choice of a 158 gr lead SWC or Jacketed bullet. The second is 6 gr of Unique and the same bullet choice. These are in 357 cases. I actually worked these loads for Model 19 S&W's but they seem to work good in all my 357's and they are easy on the guns, accurate, and fun to shoot.
