I just traded my colt custom shop saa 38-40 for a never been shot Python. It has no prefix letter. It came in the old woodgrain looking box. The serial number is 94xxx. Would anyone know how old it is. I am guessing around 1968-69? Thanks.

If condition is 99%+ and with the box and paperwork and Factory Stocks. I would "guess" it to be worth around the $1000 mark (+/- $100). Just my opinion.
I've purchased several in the last month and have never paid more than $1000 but I regularly see them going for more on auction sites. Anywhere from 1000 to 1200 dollars.

Congratulations COLTDAGUY, that's a great accomplishment. I'm working on 12 years and hope to see 37.

Thanks! Considering that the saa that I used in the trade will probably not retain the value like the python(since it is a new "post third generation") I think I did okay.
