The best overall deal I know of is MagTech 158 grain lead round-nose for $148/thousand. I get it from Midway (
www.midwayusa.com). Shipping is usually $10-$15 so the delivered price should be about $8 a box.
You might also try Wal-Mart (I dunno since I refuse to shop there).
The MagTech ammo is brass-cased and boxer-primed so it's reloadable. It's quality stuff. MagTech also makes the lowest cost .38 S&W ammo I'm aware of. It's about $12 a box. Midway carries it also.
