Finally received the Colt letter on my 1937 Bankers special marked with a BPD # on the back strap. The letter gave the date it was delivered to Boston PD and indicated it was part of an order of 25 guns.

Unfortunately BPD indicated they don't have records going that far back.

I'm thinking of selling it. Has to be a 97-99% gun. Any suggestions on the value?

Assuming it's in .38 caliber and blued, I think you have a thousand dollar gun with the rollmark and factory letter. If it's .22 or nickle, add 75%. These are hard to find and the police association adds to the value. I know of a mint .38 that went for $1000 four years ago (no box); sounds high, but they are nice pieces.
