I have a 6" blued Python that comes back as being made in 1980, but it has the 2 pin front sight.
Is it possible that it was made in 1979?
1979 was supposed to be the last year that they used the 2 pin sight before Colt changed the barrel threads In 1980, and they went to the 1 pin sight..correct?

Hi, the 2 pin front sight , I believe, was in production up until the 1990s series of Pythons.
Those later ones had the single pin.
Your gun is normal.
Enjoy it :)

I thought they changed the barrel threads on all Pythons starting in 1980, reflecting the change by using only 1 sight pin?

No.
The change was sometime in the early 1990's.
My stainless Pythons were made in the late 1980's and have two pin front sights. Both are "T" series serial number prefixes.
