The one shown has been roughly kept over the last 123 years. At one time it was most likely rusted and someone vigorously cleaned it as evidenced by the edges being rounded and not sharp as they come together. No doubt someone really enjoyed this as the grips are very worn.
They sure are neat to hold and imagine “what if I was alive back then?”
Glad you see you got them.
Perhaps $1500 for the right buyer.

Nor would I - 'rode hard, and put up wet' is a better descriptor for a piece that's been buffed this much.
