I have heard from many collectors that the Blue Book was not exactly accurate for valuing guns. Most said is was a 'guide' only. Gunbroker and auction catalogs were more valuable as it reflects the 'current' market values in prices paid. If I am trying to determine value for a certain pre-war firearm and can't find a similar condition gun on Gunbroker or an auction, how does one go about putting a value on it? Is Blue Book's prices too high or all over the place?
