Can the Police Positive handle .38+P ammo? I know they were discontinued in the 1930s or 40s right?

The Police Positive Special was made up into the 1990's.

It was the shorter cylinder and frame Police Positive that was discontinued before WWII.

The PPS's that were made after 1973 were factory rated for limited +P ammo.
For guns made from the early 1950's on, although not factory authorized, COULD shoot a small amount of +P.

On older guns, I don't recommend shooting ANY +P, since there's just no good reason for subjecting one of these older Colt's to the excessive wear and stress.

Forget plus "P" ammunition in a 38. I you are affraid that your attacker won't fall, then arm yourself with a 19ll or a ma deuce 50 cal machinegun.....Henri
