If you are good at assembly, go ahead and take it down. Clean and inspect. Mine are all shootable, however I have seen many that I would not shoot. Often I have seen the front barrel not properly engaging the link pin as someone did not reassemble it correctly. As you stated, shoot 38acp not 38 super as both will fit.

I'm in need of a parts gun, especially a 1905 45 as I have a stripped frame and complete slide. RHMC24 - Do you know if the hammer, sear, trigger, spring... for the 1902 38 are the same as those for the 1905 45?

Also need a magazine catch, Gun Parts #169410, which probably fits the 1900, 1902 Mil and Sporting and 1903 pocket hammer.

Help!

Mfg'd about 1909. #25176 went to American Trading co. Montevideo. CC & Co about Feb 1909. 4 1/2" barrel. 38acp , not 38 super which is too hot and may damage the pistol. Yours should have rear triangular cut serrations with a low spur hammer. Total made 31,250 from 1903-1927. About 300 in your serial # range were shipped to Hamburg, Germany. Letters are relatively expensive - but who knows what you'll find out?
