Just why did I enter the kitchen at 2 in the morning..For a month I had this terrible nightmare that I couldn’t remember to whom I lent my, “The Colt .45 Automatic," Shop Manual, by Jerry Kuhnhausen,..I know it wasn’t in the kitchen, But there I stood...Finally I said to heck with it and ordered a New Expanded 10TH Edition..I’m sleeping through the night now...Funny how that works....:bang_wall:

I can't find squat in my rude hut..

I hide stuff then I find out I- hid it from my self, the coinhabitant in my hovel loves to move my stuff around, put a book down, a shirt, a coffee cup anything it moves from place to place- its like a poltergeist lives here.

Sometimes I just order another book, DVD whatever then- like FM said, sure as hell I will find the one I had.

CRS is a very bad thing.

If you're luck is anything like mine, you'll find your old copy within 2 days.
That happens to me with tools, books and almost everything else. In fact, that's how I find lost gun parts...order a replacement and the old part magically appears sometime later in plain sight.

I don't loan books out, so I know mine are in this house/shop somewhere. Sometimes it's years before I stumble across a "lost" book I've been searching for. I've learned to live with the fact that sometimes I put things in dumb places and it'll turn up again.

I lose something and it's one step away from an insanity to find it. My last fight was a hatchet I use for firewood. Wife had died and I checked everywhere except her laundry basket in the garage. 10 years goes by and my daughter found the hatchet under the laundry basket I never use. Still sharp from me working on it in the garage.

Funny how this stuff works. I lost my favorite pocket knife; it had a sliver inlay of a Colt SAA in the handle. I’d bought it in Taos, N.M. We were back there in Sept but found out the company had moved to Santa Fe. So we go to Santa Fe and I’m able to buy a replacement. Happy again. But all that effort to replace it and the original STILL hasn’t shown back up. Go figure.

I'm going to put this right here so I know where it is. The problem is remembering which "right here" is the right "here."

Boy can I relate. I misplaced volume II. I knew the quickest way to find it was to order a new one. Sure enough I found my original Volume II, and the new one is still in a plastic wrapper:bang_wall:
