Care for mid 50\'s Black Plastic SAA Grips

Can anyone offer a suggestion as to how to clean those plastic grips(are they Bakelite?)and should there then be something applied such as Armor All or one of the plastic care products? It seems the grips just look old and dirty over the years and could benefit from some sort of cleaning and conditioning.

I don't know about the plastic treatments, but I'd suggest warm soapy water and a toothbrush.

I'm fairly sure the grips are plastic, but not sure enough to risk giving advice that might damage them.

I think the grips from the mid-fifties were gutta percha (hard rubber). I don't think Colt made them out of plastic until the third generations in the mid-seventies. As far as cleaning them, they're pretty tough, and I think you can apply Tri-flow or other oils, as well as soap and water, alcohol, etc.
