Just for general information. Seems this vendor contracted with Colt for a series of these.
Precision Shooter, 1961.
Seems also to have a unique serial number range.
I looked through this site's archives before posting this, if someone else has already done so, sorry about that, I missed it.

My parents bought one of the Centennial Arms Zouave muskets for me in 1968 as a Christmas present. I also bought a Tower flintlock pistol from them as well as a brass frame 1851 Navy. I remember those adds for the Sheriff's Model. They were available in both blue/CC and nickel. Several years ago there was one sold at an auction and it brought very good money. As I remember they did have a special serial number range. That is all I got!

They had an SM in the serial number. Interesting story about one of these 1960 Colt Sheriffs Model revolvers sold by RIA.

"This revolver has the standard Sheriff's Model markings (including matching numbers) but was accidentally shipped with a matching numbered .357 Magnum cylinder and a .45 Colt barrel. Ron Wagner at Colt sent a .45 Colt cylinder to correct the issue. The factory letter confirms both cylinders, the error, and that it was part of a 98 gun shipment to Centennial Arms Corp. in Chicago on September 16, 1960."

When I had my second generation collection I owned Sheriff's Model 0049SM. 503 Sheriff's Models were produced, 478 were blue and 25 were nickel. It was originally advertised as the worlds largest pocket pistol. According to Don Wilkerson, sales were slow, and in 1963 Shotgun News advertised 74 revolvers as still available. Retail price was $139.95.
