I changed the grips on one of my Colt SAA's. It had a pair of faux pearl grips on it that are original to the SAA but I prefer wood. So in my parts box I had a pair of Colt walnut grips with the gold medallions that has been lying around for years. I think they fit very nice and almost look original to the SAA. So now my WV centennial wears walnut grips that compliment the gold grip straps. I was shooting at 10 yards today, Fed 225 gr JSP which is very clean burning and does not require much cleaning time.

I agree. The faux pearl grips were just to white and plastic looking but they are solid and well made. I just prefer walnut and blue steel, my inner termite.
