Single-action tune-up specialist Dave Sample, aka "Captain Eagle," has been very active in helping customize guns to be raffled for charity. This year he and some others have put together a package of a custom 5-1/2" Cimarron black powder framed .44-40 and gun leather to raffle.

The gun features:
- Custom action job by Dave Sample, aka Captain Eagle
- Engraving by Rachel Wells and gold accents by Jeff Collins
- Two engraved silver rattlesnake grips by Bill Falk
- Fire-blued cylinder by Dave Mazy
- Special presentation box made by artist Lee Anderson
- Custom holster designed in exquisite detail by Gordon Davis of Davis Leather

The gun and holster are replicas of Clint Eastwood's rig in High Plains Drifter. Value is estimated to be $10,000. This year's designated beneficiaries will be David Johnson (of D Bar J Hat Company), Gordon Davis (of Davis Leather), and Glen Wilson (a.k.a. the Paloduro Kid). All three have bad health and financial problems. Raffle tickets are only $10 each, or 13 for $100.

Second prize is a Bowie and sheath from Moyer Knives worth $1,200. There are about a dozen lesser prizes, too.

Imagine the value if they had used a real Colt.

Yeah, I imagine $10,000 is a bit optimistic. Then again, engraving and gold and silver inlay doesn't come cheaply.
