Friends, this is a well used old Colt Government...
It went to to Hong Kong, China, in March 1937 in a batch of 24. Hong Kong was British in those days and there was a war going on in China.
The pistol is marked 1721 on the side and on the front of the grip.. and it is marked with two chinese "letters". I was told by the daughter of a friend that this could mean something like "public property and coast guard".
Anyone around who knows more of those 24 guns.....
