After Colt's, slide action .22s are my favorite guns. They usually get shot the most too.
Here's one you don't see too often. A BSA from the 20s.

Who doesn't love classic pump action rimfire rifles?
These days that's where I spend most of my shooting time at .
I have two of these Win M1890's, and being early guns, they are in 22 Short. A fun gun to shoot, and it holds about 20 rounds.

Although some will scorn the condition, this is a very rare one! Again, a 22 Short.
SN 45401 SHIPPED NOV 11, 1896. HAS CHEQ FANCY WALNUT DELUXE PG (895 KNOWN), STYLE #8 FACTORY ENGRAVED (BY JOHN ULRICH) W/STANDING DEER PANELS ON BOTH SIDES OF FRAME (ONLY 29 KNOWN ENGRAVED!), ENGRAVED NICKELED SWISS BUTTPLATE (ONLY 18 KNOWN), BEACH FRONT SIGHT, FIXED REAR SIGHT, MID-RANGE SIGHT (ONLY 3003 W/SPCL SIGHTS).

(PROD FIGURES BASED ON SURVIVING RECORDS UP TO SN 329,999).

The bore is AWFUL, but I don't plan on shooting it!

That is a rare bird ,honestly I tend to migrate towards well used old rifles that might have a story to tell.

Me too. That is a family gun, and I recall shooting ratshot thru it at barn mice. Of course, one shell at a time in this 22 short.

Mike, I thought I had some newer pics of this fancy M1890. But these appear to be old black & whites. I need to replace a broken trigger in that gun, and plan to re-photo then. Thanks, Jim

YOU KNOW WHAT? These pictures were taken by George Madis in about 1970.

Here is that gun (#45401), and the consecutive serial number (#45402), as taken together. The #45402 was owned by a doctor in Dallas. His has the smaller Lyman tang sight.

Do I spy a savage 29?
Yes , First year production with a mirror bore and its a shooter too.Easily one of the best shooting .22 I have.
Shot this group at 25 yards sitting barrel resting across an old saw horse with Rem target.

I remember liking the Taurus 62 so much I got one with a factory tang sight. An affordable alternative to a fine condition Winchester.
Not a Taurus but an Interarms 62 octagon barrel with lyman tang peep. Purchased in early 90's
Not a Winchester by any means, but it is a shooter .1000's of rounds through it.

I’ve always had a weak spot for pump rimfires.
A couple semi-deluxe and deluxe 1890s in various calibers, and some 61s in s,l,lr / 22 Mag / and a “For Shot Only”

I also have a half nickel 1890 in 22 short that I believe to be a legitimate gallery gun, but that one doesn’t fit in the cabinet.

And a savage 29-S for good measure:

It is a rare day to see 5 pistol gripped M1890's in one picture! Send side views if you can. Would love to see them.
