Even if it wasn't a US contract, one good grip panel and one broken is always better then a set of repros (to me anyway). Each original panel will run you $100+ but having a set of repros will probably devalue the pistol significantly IMHO . They just aren't right for it. (so will having the wrong screws especially if they messed up the frame threads)As retropox says, even though that pistol is a bit rough, it's valuable even in that state. The fact that it even still exists makes it special :) The prices are all over the place, but I'd expect $6-7k range. Legacy Collectibles has a fairly decent one (#15115) that was is on sale for $8500 (down from $9950). Wrong mag though... usually stuff on there gets snapped up fast - even expensive stuff - so this may be over-priced or just not many Colt fanatics collectors have seen it, since it's not easily found on their site.

Note the magazines for these are VERY hard to find, it's unique to the 1902 and only used for a very short time. Nickeled with 1884 pat'd marking on the baseplate. Not having that correct mag is probably a $400+ hit.
