Anybody have one of these Colt 1911 Rail Guns in .22!?

I bought these pachmayr redwood grips to swap out the originals because I have seen pictures of a few others and I really like how it looks. BUT I get them and try to put them on and it's a no go... The Allen screw that holds the logo on the Pachmayr grips will not allow the grips to sit flush on the inside...
Anybody run into this!?

I have that same gun, I just purchased it and man is it accurate, needs trigger job and doing that this week. I put on some double diamond grips and these Smith & Wesson e-series grips on it with no problem

There should be several ways to get the grips to work:

1. Remove the button-head Allen screw and replace it with a standard slotted flat head machine screw. There should be enough thickness of the grip to allow countersinking the screw flush with the back of the grip.

2. Remove the Allen head screw and just epoxy the medallion in the grip.

3. Drill a hole in the guns frame to allow the screws to fit into the frame. (This is a last resort because it permanently alters the gun).
