I have a Colt 1911-A1 1943 mfg. It's all original. I would say over 90%, no scratch's or other blemishes. I have gotten interested in collecting S&W and Colt revolvers, post war,( 1940s early 50's) and am thinking of selling the 1911 A1 and am not sure what to ask. I realize without seeing the gun or at least a good photo this is a tough question but I am looking only for a ballpark figure. I purchased the gun about 6 or 7 years ago for $ 500. Thanks, Joe

I would venture if its "original", not an arsenal rework , it would push and maybe MORE than the $1000 mark. reworks somewhat 'less', and the contractors will "add" to this value as the Colt is the most 'common', with the Singers being the fewest. SO anywhere from $6-700 to well into the 30-40,000 range for the Singers. I think Rock Island auctions just sold one last week or so , in the mid ,upper $35,000 range. Whew, thats a lotta cash........... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
