Any insights/observations regarding my most recent acquisition - 1973 Colt 1911 Government Model Series 70? The slide and frame appear to be two different materials. I was just curious to know what the experts thought about this particular firearm. Thank you in advance.

They are most likely the same. Someone had refinished it to the two-tone finish at some point

The grip safety currently on there was not available until the 80s. Someone replaced the original with that.

It’s been mildly customized. The ejection port was opened up and the grip safety replaced. The slides been reblued and the frame is probably hard chromed. Pretty gun!
