I don't have any experience in the resale value of Turnbull restorations, but the few that I have seen at auction don't bring anything like the investment in them. Depending on the condition of the donor pistol, I would think that the total investment in that pistol would be in the neighborhood of $3500/4000.

But - that's the 'investment' - not what it might actually sell for.

No matter who does the restoration - Colt or Turnbull, or someone else - it's always going to be a reblued, used pistol.

Time already has told. Reblued and refinshed guns have been around since the 1950s. And they have been selling for much less than a comparable gun in that condition for half a century. They are basically worth what a 10-50% condition original is worth. You can "hope" a restored gun will go for the same as an original in 98% condition as long as you want...another 50 years. But you'll lose.
