Hi Steven and welcome to the forums. As most of the members will probably say in here, throwing a first, second, or third hand slide on a frame is not that easy. Alot of times they are fitted to the frame rails and wont just slide together. If you get one too loose it will beat the gun apart and one too tight forced on will just gaul and freeze up if you can even get one on. Best bet would be to find a competent gunsmith to do the fitting for you.
colt 1911
Hi guys I stay in south africa and a friend of mine gave me a colt model 70 1911 pistol for free but it is missing the slide,the rest is there complete I must just get the slide then it is shooting,so my problem is that I am battling to get one over here I would like a second hand one so that it fits with the rest of the gun if not I will have to go for a new one,do any of you have one or know where I can get one,it would be highly appreciated.
