I have these markings on my 1917 Colt. It looks like arrows up against a set of arrows facing down on the back strap. Any information is appreciated.

It looks like Canadian or British markings. It also has a non-1917 front sight...barrel replacement maybe? Does it say United States Property on the underside of the barrel or a US Army number on the heel of the butt? It could be a post-WWI commercial 1917.

They mark 'Sold From Stores' - indicating a lawful purchase from the British military, but there are no other associated proof markings that would indicate ownership by the Crown that I can see.

Doesn't look like a Model 1917. Rebuilt .455? Barrel (no caliber marking) has late type front sight and ejector rod head.

Appears to be an 80 or 90 thousand serial number with a rebuild number under it.
