Hi,
As the title says this question is regarding the little spring loaded plunger which, when depressed by the series 80 mechanism, allows the firing pin to contact the primer. I've recently noticed that the plating is flaking off of this plunger. I never realized this was plated until now. My questions are: has anyone else noticed this and has anyone noticed this flaking metal causing any sort of binding that could prevent proper function?

I have 3 Series 80 guns and never noticed it.But then again I shoot thousands of rounds and when I clean them I detail strip both slide and frame so the safety mechanisms are cleaned also.
