I recently purchased my first Colt Government Model 1991. I noticed a few stamp markings on the frame. On the left side of the frame on the trigger guard, there are two markings. One marking is on the upper part of the trigger guard. It looks like a triangle with the letters "VP". The other marking is on the lower part of the trigger guard near the mag release button. That marking is an "L". the third marking is on the right sideupper part of the trigger guard. That marking is "G" My question is, "What do these markings mean?"
Thanks for the info.

The VP in the triangle is Colt's mark of assurance that the pistol passed all tests and inspections. The L on the left side is the identification of the Colt inspector that passed the final inspection. The G on the right side of the trigger guard is the identification of the Colt assembler.
