I have this colt 38 super pre-war serial 24974 engraved but i will like to know more information about it the only thing i know is the person before me purchase this pistol in a gunshop very long time ago and she purchase as is, so i will like to know if the engraved is factory made or after market because i dont have the letter or the box.
In general and with the grip-panels in particular, It looks like a Mexican Bar-B-Que gun to me. And I intend that in all of the best ways. I'd be ALL OVER that piece if it inspected well in-hand.
We see much the same fairly often here in Border country. They draw damn-high money for the competition existing with Mexican Cowboys. Weirdly - or not - elsewhere in the country the demand/desire is significantly less.
On first-blush, I'd say the engraving is custom and the panels were bought separately.
