This Army Special from 1909 policed some of the roughest folks that any of my guns ever have........





The NYC Bureau of Water Supply Police from this era rode horseback and were assigned to keep the peace in the "unruly"work camps while the aqueduct system was being built. They primarily hired officers & NCOs from the Army or National Guard.

I have several of these old warhorses. However, I don't think I've ever posted this one from 1921. It has a 5" bbl. & started out as a blued gun in a shipment of 50 to the "Met. Police Department" in Kansas City MO. The officer's name (E D Reedy) is engraved on the butt.
