Since we don't seem to have one, and I don't want to crowd out the Detective or Police Positive photo thread, I will start with mine.

This well-used but honest example I bought from the nephew of the original owner here in Ohio. It had really funky after market grips, but after talking with Don Furr I was able to get some Detective grips to use with it (it is serial numbered to a long gone DS on the reverse of the grips).

It was shipped on Feb 4, 1937 to Sutcliffe & Co in Louisville KY, a large sporting good dealer, and I suspect was probably shipped to a location in Ohio, though Colt doesn't have that info.

Since a Bankers' Special is just a Police Positive with a 2-inch barrel, then this revolver, which is the precursor to the Bankers' Special, could be called a "pre-Bankers' Special". We only know of 3 lettered examples of this super rare revolver that many people don't even know exists. It was on a special order for 1500 guns let on April 9, 1928 for the Railway Mail Service of the U.S. Post Office Department and it has all of its roll stampings present.

Possibly the first or one of the first Bankers' Specials ever manufactured. This gun was manufactured on June 1, 1928. as of this date it is the earliest known manufacture date for a Bankers' Special. Note, these early guns had no righthand side barrel roll stamp applied (just blank) and had a smooth trigger, not checked.

Here's my former 1931 Banker's Special with the RMS PO DEPT Stamped backstrap, inventory # on the butt. Unfortunately, it was refinished and didn't have the original grips. This gun unfortunately, got some regulars on here bent out of shape for no reason because I listed it for more than they said it was worth and it brought more than twice that locally to an informed, educated buyer....and I'm still the "bad" guy. Good to see all these awesome examples!
