I am looking at a Colt Cobra snub NITB. Question. The box label has the model#, s/n, and finish hand written. Is this normal?

Can you post a photo? You didn't say what vintage your Cobra is but here are a couple of correct boxes from the 1960s.

S/N H682xx, about 1974. I tried to get the photo but I can't. The gun is listed on Backpage Las Vegas under sports

Some D frames of this era did have info written in white on end flap of woodgrain box. Most I've seen were DS's in .32 NP caliber since Colt did not make a specific gold foil label for these. Where was the info printed and what color was the writing.

The label is White background, black hand writing. 2" barrel and 38 Spec is factory print

That box is from 1968.

I agree that the info written on the label looks OK. I don't know anything about white paper labels on these; my 1970s DA Colt boxes all have gold foil labels but I don't have a Cobra from that period. I also agree the $1200 is high for that gun.
