Well, I am far from a Colt semi-auto expert, but there are Commander models, Combat Commander models, and Officer's models and "sub" models such as Concealed Carry Officer and General Officer's and so on. I believe one would need to know what series (70 or 80, for example) and the specific marking to answer your question accurately. Perhaps someone with more knowledge will attempt to help sort it out, but it sounds like, despite its sometimes value inaccuracies in the current Colt market and occasional errors simply because of the volume of data involved, you might benefit from a Blue Book of Gun Values by S. P.Fjeldstad or other reference book that might be recommended based on your specific area of interest. HTH /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I bought one from Gunsite here in Paulden Arizona. It is a blued 70 series and I find it has perfect balance for me.They had several and I was able to hand pick one for a tight fit and light trigger- they did vary some. I have owned the full size, Officer and Commander sized 1911's but the CCO is best for me. It was about $1300 with custom features and is a special run from Colt with Gunsite markings. Every once in a while Gunsite places a limited order so you may want to check with them. The CCO came in a 2 tone model and a aluminum/stainless model both in 80 and 70 series.I beleive they all were aluminum frame models. The ones I have shot and owned were extremely well built and very accurate.I know $1300 is not cheap but the way it shoots and its balance makes it worth it for me.
