Just picked up

Model CB1850 serial #TF04916, 5 1/2 Barrel, 45 Colt Blue/Color Case finish. Appeared to be unfired in box with papers, original plastic bags, revolver disc installed. I am at least the third owner. Unfired until the rain stops, anyway. I am most interested in relative production dates.

All new reports added, along with some other sightings. Thank all of you for your help and continued support.

We now have 201 serial numbers, with some sort of descriptions for each. Patterns of revolver configurations, (barrel lengths, commemoratives, stock type, etc) previously reported seem to be holding. We added one more 7.5"" bbl version this time, it appears to be the most rare, about 2%. The consecutive SN pair reported by Irishman were both 4.75" versions, about 13% of those reported so far have that length.

As the numbers increase some patterns seem (at least to me) to be developing), at least for the barrrel lengths. There may be other patterns that I can't see yet.

The one constant so far is caliber, all are .45 Colt , or not reported.

At least two have changed hands since this list was started, and have been picked up by member reports. There may have been more. I know at least one has been relisted several times. I'm not trying to keep trach of that kind of information.

Using Chicone's reported 13,984 produced, we have about 1.4% of the serial numbers. I'll leave it to the statisticians if that is enough to draw valid conclusions. As stated above, from observation (which are "ONLY" observations in the eyes of some) it seems that the rough ratios reported previously are holding.

Thanks to all who have contributed information, and your continued interest, and please keep those numbers coming in.

Thank you, added.

Observation on bbl lengths: There are 5 reported with 7.5" barrels, all with Serial numbers over TF10,000
29 are reported to have 4 3/4: bbls, 2 were custom shop versions around SN TF023XX, the rest are all after Sn 11,000.

Other patterns may be developing.

Thanks to all participants in this survey

I had a Model CB 1850, 5-1/2 inch barrel, blue, CC. Serial number TF1333, .45 Colt. Pistol was stolen during home invasion robbery in June 2005. Revolver is listed in Stolen Gun Registry, Bellingham PD. I have sales receipt and original box for this Cowboy.

This Colt was stolen along with Colt New Frontier, 7-1/2 inch blue, .44/40, S/N: 11231NF. Also registered in stolen gun Registry. I have original box and sales receipt for this Colt also.

Sir I think we may be missing a didgit in the serial number. Is the serial number TF01333 or TF1333X ?

Thank you

Sorry to hear about the home invasion robbery, I did check what's been repored here so far but nothing close to what you've reported so far for the Cowboy.

Hope the thugs are caught. And punished severely.

It should have a zero in front of the numbers. I know who stole these guns but this being the People's Republic of Washington, the cops won't do anything.
