Defender with Government length frame... would love to have one

Rare? Not really, but there are less than the standard Defender and I like the extra round

Yes. A Defender, so 3 inch barrel with a Gov./Commander grip. They were only made for about a year if even that. They were only made in .45 ACP as far as I know. There was a Defender in 40 S&W that was also made for about a year when the Defender came out. It had the Officers length grip on it. They are not common, but just not that valuable. If you have to have one then I would suggest gunbroker or gunsamerica.

Most the time someone makes a full length grip with a short barrel it does not sell very well. That is what Colt found when they came out with this guy. At the same time they also had a Defender in 40 S&W that sort of died on the vine. The .45ACP Defender survived and was joined with a 9mm Defender in 2009-2010.
