Hi Folks, quick question here. I know there has been a bit of a surge in 10mm popularity lately. I have been thinking about picking up a Delta Elite for my personal collection. I read once that it is one of the staples a Colt 1911 collector should consider. I am not sure of the merit to that. I am curious what some of your thoughts are on the collectability of the recent production Delta Elite's? I do see what the older ones are going for on gunbroker. Many of them are probably less than honest with their Factory New and New Old Stock classifications - as is the case with a lot of sellers on GB. So, I tend to focus on recent production to avoid that hassle. Unless, of course, I can put my eyes and hands on it in person.

Thoughts please...I am curious as to the collectability (value and nostalgia) of the Delta Elite versus how it shoots and opinions on the caliber alone. Sorry, just want to avoid the whole 45 vs 9 vs 10mm debate...We can save that for another day.

Fitting a .40 caliber barrel might do it...same extractor, firing pin. Don't know about the feed ramp angle or the magazine though.

A Bren Ten is one of my bucket list guns to own. The problem is they’re too expensive today.

No experience here with the 10mm or the Delta Elite. But a friend has a Colt 10mm pistol and absolutely loves it. I don't know if it's a DE but it is nice. I've never had a use for the .40 s&w, DE or revolvers that accept either cartridge. What I do have is an older .41 mag S&W that I bought new many decades ago. I love that cartridge and consider it an ideal whitetail cartridge.
