Colt Detetive "Hand"? Would This Be Appropriate to Use ? :

I have a CDetecive early 60s and have been told it will eventually need a new "Hand". Dunno how long eventually is, I fire it modestly. However, having never seen one on Ebay I bought this for $15 or so. Not high-res pix but from what can you tell about this one, listed used + "good", as far as it making a good substitute when needed. I'm not an expert on how a fitting used Cold D hand appears and have little idea if this one is in good shape or not. Any sense anyone? Also, is this the kind of fix the average user should attempt, switching to a better "Hand" or is it a job for good Colt 'Smith (or Colt)

Thanks for any feedback

You will have to install it and see.

The used Hand you got looks alright...but, until it is installed, there is no real way to tell how it will improve or worsen or break-even, as far as it's effecting the Timing of your particular Revolver.
The best hand to use in your Colt is the one installed in it now. The hand can be stretched .01". In my experience on guns that are just slightly out of time .001-.002 fixes them back to normal. Fitting another hand sometimes is more than stretching. A spare is never wrong just in case if your original hand gets broken during the stretch process.

Thanks all. "Stretching Hands" is Quantum Physics to me so that or a trial-swap better be done by an expert rather than me - unless I wait til it's obvious my present one is fading fast. Problem in my location is finding a Colt expert. Course Colt Mfg should be pretty well up on it. Dunno though if they work on Detectives.

Colt will work on any Colt firearm, just don't get in a hurry, because they won't!
I had a 1930 detective special repaired once, I sent it back to colt, it took about 6 months but it came back in 100% fireing order and they only charged me for one $30 part.
Excellent news, I am about at that point.
