Just received my letter from the Colt Archives verifying my six inch Diamondback as Electroless Nickel (Coltgaurd) shipped in 1981. I understand these guns are quite rare and the six in barrel model the rarest. The box was stored in the garage separate from the gun and is a little rough shape but intact. All the paperwork is present and the Custom Shop label verifies the information in the archival letter. The gun is pristine and in my meager opinion fired only at the factory. I purchased this several years ago from a friend in my local home town before Diamondbacks and Pythons became such a hot item. I really appreciate the knowledge shared by the members of this great forum. I have been a big Smith and Wesson fan since 1970, but have manage to accumulate some fine Colts which I consider remarkable firearms. God bless and great shooting.
